PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Provide deep technical expertise and daily operational support for Microsoft Active Directory and related services for a company named one of the most admired on the Fortune 500. Consult with IT teams and business personnel on the usage of standard technology service offerings to meet business/IT needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide technical and operational expertise to support and continuously improve the performance and reliability of key IT solutions. Contribute towards the completion of business projects and internal IT projects.
Work with the IT and business communities to ensure the operational readiness of new or modified technology service offerings, and support the standard usage of technology Exelon’s technology services leveraging Exelon’s standard governance process as outlined in the Management Model. Ensure appropriate implementation and use of technology both within the production and the development environments.
Build and maintain knowledge of supported technology service offerings and actively participate in the analysis of their use for business and/or IT partners.
Identify and provide Business and IT data on IT trends and issues. Participate in IT architecture review and standards setting. Assist in the development of white papers, conducting presentations as needed to explain how technology services can be consumed.
Maintain and enhance engagement with business and IT partners.
Maintain technical knowledge and business acumen within own discipline or function
Provide performance evaluations, career development feedback, and recognition as required.
Continuous improvement of standard service offerings to improve support and delivery capabilities and manage capacity for existing environments
Apply patches, triaging issues and configuring changes and fixing issues
Performance tuning per application and business requirements to support business continuity.
Upkeep, monitor and maintenance of technology service offerings to communicate and remediate issues.
Engage and actively participate in troubleshooting technology issues with vendor support, application teams, and other Exelon IT teams to resolve product issues if any arise and support the IT corrective action program.
Make necessary changes to technology services as per application and business requirements.
Answer client questions/request regarding access permissions, data etc.
Participate in an on-call rotation and off hours maintenance activities
Fulfill requests and resolve incidents assigned to the team.
- Bachelors degree and typically 3 to 5 years related experience in (add area(s) of technical specialty) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Appropriate Technical Skills:
Advanced literacy in supporting and maintaining Microsoft technologies, specifically Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS and computer networking.
Experience adhering to, and utilizing, change control processes.
This person should have experience supporting distributed enterprise workloads of 5000 or more users, 100 Servers.
Experience administrating solutions in Office 365, Microsoft Azure, and other public cloud services.
Strong scripting experience is preferred (PowerShell /Visual Basic)
Knowledge of business practices and processes
Strong planning and organizational skills
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform independent technical research
Strong problem solving skills
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science preferred
- Performs this role in support of all of Exelon as part of the C&I shared IT services organization.
